Wow! Great Photos! I have never seen one of these before . Is his tongue always sticking out like that ? How big is Slinky? How large do they grow? Can you handle them or do they bite? I know, questions, questions. vallery

Wow! Great Photos! I have never seen one of these before . Is his tongue always sticking out like that ? How big is Slinky? How large do they grow? Can you handle them or do they bite? I know, questions, questions. vallery Thank you! It flickers like a snakes, he uses it to smell and taste things! It's pretty cute until he sticks it in your eye! Slinky is 18 inches long and he's fully grown, depends on what species you get. You can handle them, some like to cuddle, some would rather you leave them alone to explore and some just like to be left alone! When I first adopted Slinky, the woman game him to me in a big box and you could hear him hissing and hissing and I looked into the box and he tried to take my nose off! but with a lot of TLC, he now knows that fingers and toes are not food! So even if you do get an aggressive skink, they can change with a lot of care and attention! His species is aggressive compared to the others though so he will still have that spark in him but the other ones are pretty calm! Ask away! I love telling people about blue tongue skinks! They're so fascinating! I could talk about them all day long! And now that I have my GALS, I won't shut up about them either!! ;D

More questions.
What do they like to eat?
How long is their life span.
Can you let him out of his terrarium and wonder around?

They eat, fruit, veg, live bugs they eat snails but my babies aren't going near him!
I heard they can live for up to 20 - 30 years!! Which is like a lifetime dedication to me but I'm happy with it!
Yes you can but cause they're burrowing reptiles, it's best to keep an eye on them before they hide themselves and disappear!
