I've just ordered some Archachatina papyracea adelinae. I'd love to read more about them! Does any of you have a link or experience with this specie or subspecie?

Adelinae are not a variety of papyracea, from what I've read, but a separate specie. I've managed to gather some information on them: They should not be kept on coco earth, but on compost from a deciduous forest (I'll set up a new snailarium for them tomorrow). They are picky eaters and prefer carrots and sweet potatoe. The information is divided when it comes to temperature. They have a reputation of being hard to keep, so I keep my fingers crossed! So far, my three adelinae seems to be ok with the conditions.

I have some doubts about my three snails, so I'll post some pictures. Are they really A. adelinae? Their shells are really worn, so the patterns are hard to see, but when they are wet, the patterns fit the description, including the pink apex. Their bodies do not fit the descriptions. They are darker and the same dark brown all over, while the description says dark grey head, lighter foot. They are wild caugth in Cameroon. Size 6-8cm, all adults. Please let me know what specie they are! All 3 Pattern. The pinkish apex don't really show in this pic. Columella bueish white to pink Foot The largest, obviously adult Picture from BugzUK (I don't really trust them when it comes to snails).

The shells look too "fat" to be adelinae. I'm now wondering if they could be marginata egregia or eduardi? I could really need some help identifying them! I'm also wondering if they could mate with my marginata suturalis? Probably, since they are the same specie. Maybe I should mix my own variety It would be nice to have a smaller variety with white skin (my suturalis are silver and albino), but not as difficult as the smaller Archachatina species.

until you are sure what they are i would recommend keeping them away from other Archachatina just incase they are a subspecies of that species.
During your searches did you find any info on what colour the collumella should be in adelinae?

I've reached almost certainty; they are Arch. marginata var. eduardi. I got a refund from the seller and are trying to re-home them here in Norway (a friend can take them on from December, but I hope to find someone who can take them now).

It's great when a seller offers a refund rather than deny what they are! It's also too bad I can't take one of these.
