I've been seeing this for a while now, when I put food in my baby tank (about 100 A. albopicta) few of them go straight for the food. The babies race up the side of the tank and onto the lid right above the food, then they all pile up together until they all fall off and onto the food in a big snail-ball. I thought I was imagining it the first time but I've kept a close eye on them and they do this every time Any idea why? do any of your snails do this? These crazy guys will be for sale when it warms up providing they dont hurt themselves!

Here is a picture of the early stages of them piling up! there were lots more snails heading towards them.

Wow, that sounds crazy! I once had baby brown-lips that would often race to the top rather than eat, but they don't clump onto each other to the point of falling in mass. I find that giving them lettuce, radish, or sometimes carrots will keep them down for a bit, but some also say that they do that when there's something in their terrarium bothering them. What exactly? It could be anything from not enough living space, temperature etc. I don't know anything about Achatina Albopicta behaviour, so hopefully someone will come on later to give you more accurate advice pertained to the species you keep.
