Today i collected my hamster from the breeder he is GORGEOUS so i had to share He's a black SH rex, loving the curly wurly whiskers!
It was a brilliant day, i met sue who is absolutely lovely and got to cuddle mum (Twilight) and met a lot of her other hamsters (including one who i am sure is a guinea-pig in disguise). I got to cuddle all three of the remaining boys at once - that's a very odd thing as obviously i'm used to hamsters being on their own. I wanted to steal them all! they were all fantastic.
In the end one chose me, he was the nosiest and most cuddly was more than happy to sit still for cuddles inbetween explorations.
I've never met soppier hamsters you could just roll them on their backs and tickle their bellies and they loved it. I've only ever had pet shop hams before so not needing to tame is very weird!
I haven't decided on a name yet.
So far i've got:
Marmite - obviously because it's a dark food and a couple of my previous hams were named after food (however because he's a rex he's not as shiney as actual marmite)
Merlin - can be associated with dark - also a bit of a joker troublemaker
Juniper - due to the dark berries
Dusk - His mum's called twilight so this seemed appropriate
Hephaestus - greek god of the forge, also cunning (i'm thinking along the lines of blacksmiths and the like here)
Vulcan - roman version of above, also he (the hamster) has a white splodge on his belly like a wide V or a vulcan bomber plane
Nez- actually a large mouse from an excellent game called mice and mystics, who is grey and a blacksmith.
Joxer - because he's a bit daft at times and it just popped into my head a while ago
Sebell - a character from one of my favourite series of books
Tobermory - after the womble of course!
Blaze - he has a little white stripe down his front
Maverick - the name of one of his great grand fathers which i quite like
Anyway here's the bit you all really want... PHOTOS!
*HEART MELT*
Turns out the wheel still has some sawdust on so now he's all spotty!
Whatcha doing?
Wheels are for squidging behind! (he loved squidging between the support and the back wall of the zoozone he's nuts!)
He really liked the sandbath, but all the other photos of him in the sandbath were just a bum sticking in the air!
BACK TO THE WHEEL! showing off his curly whiskers
OOOOhhhhhh food, MUST POUCH IT ALL!
