My dear snail, Crackle, unfortunately passed away. I discovered her tonight, as I was cleaning out their tank. She was deeply retracted. I thought she was still alive, but then I noticed the unpleasant odor, and another snail was trying to get at her. Thankfully none of my other snails died. She was a wild caught snail and she seemed older, but i still feel guilty for not caring for her better. My schedule gets busy, and, at times, i allow the snails to become inactive. All of my snails normally burrow down and seal over, as they are all wild caught and there are long periods of drought here where I live. Even though it is natural for them, I still feel extremely guilty. I am curious as to cause of death, though. If you have any ideas, please let me know. RIP, Crackle!

I'm so sorry you lost crackle.
there can be so many causes of death in snails that we know so little about. it could very easily be old age in this case.
