I think they can eat what the adults eat but in smaller quantities. When my babies hatched, I fed them tiny pieces of lettuce and they were just fine. They ate lettuce for the first month and a half of their life, them I introduced new food. Now that they are about 8 months old, they get the same food the adults get.

Also, make sure they get lots of calcium to grow their shell! Are they land or aquatic?

I would feed them something soft, but nutritious. I gave mine mashed fish flakes/romaine/tomato sprinkled with crushed egg shells, but romaine will do well too.

Baby snails can feed on every kind of food that the adults feed on, just make sure if you offer wet foods (such as tomato insides) that they don't drown in it. Their tiny radulas work so grating or mashing food is not a necessity, though super thin slices of slicable foods are always a snaily favourite. It's also good for them to get used to many kinds of tastes when small, they will be easier to feed as adults that way.

All the baby snails here get fed a wide varity of foods based around thin raw slices of sweet potatos as this is a great food sorce thatthey all love.

I typically give my baby snails lettuce, carrots, apple and squash which is pretty much the same as I do for my adults. One thing though, never give them watery things like grapes, tomatoes or watermelons.

What can you feed a baby river snail that you get out of a pond?

You can put them in the food from time to time and/or check if there's poop on the walls. If there's poop, then your snails are all happy and healthy!

They won't starve to death. Just keep food available and if you want evidence of it getting eaten when you're not looking, watch for little nibbling marks on it and poop that is the same colour as the food. If you only just caught your snails, it's normal that they are very inactive for the first couple days.
