One of my garden Aspersas behaves quite differently to the others when feeding. It's been difficult to get a clear photo, but this one is ok: As you can see, this Aspersa is sitting up, and has grabbed his food with his 'skirt'. His shell has fallen back with gravity. He always eats like this, sometimes sitting up so much that only his foot and the back of his shell is on the ground. None of the other aspies does this, and I've never seen them pick anything up. Interestingly, he is quite shy compared to the others, and does not like being handled or taken inside. His shell and body are both fine, no problems, no scars, no breaks. I doubt if anyone has any idea, but it's weird that this one picks his food up to eat when the others don't. Ali.

It's possible he may have some kind of congenital deformity of his internal organs, and it's just more comfortable for him to adopt this posture. I'm just guessing.
