I have a pair of nemoralis that are noticeably larger than the others. I took a gram scale and weighed them at 4.8g and 5.0g. Can anyone who has some nemoralis and a gram scale top that?

I was about to weigh a nemoralis, only to find that the battery on my kitchen scale died!

Just found that's 5.8g IN THE WILD. It might reach 6 in captivity (they seem to get a bit fatter indoors). I will take a new photo when it gets there It's gargantuan. Almost the same size as my aspersa...

I remember seeing some huge nemoralis when I was much younger that looked as though they could have possibly weighed 7-10g. Of course, it's impossible to actually tell without weighing them, but hopefully if I ever come across supersized cepaea nemoralis, I should weigh them to see if such theoretical weights are possible.

Here's the new one next to the previous record holder. It was trying to mate with your aspersa this morning.

Helix aspersa X cepaea nemoralis would be a wicked combination! It's too bad their reproductive parts aren't compatible...

Doesn't stop em from trying! On another note, wow these guys gain so much weight in captivity.

Here we goooooooooo!A multi-banded brown-lipped snail. Weighing in at 4 grams. Aerial view of the same snail. Goldy! I wonder how much this one will weigh? 4 grams too? Whoa! This is not a brown-lipped snail! How did it get onto the scale?! I guess we'll weigh it anyway. 5 grams. What good is a competition without an inter-species group photo? Together they all come in at a feathery 9 grams. I hope viewers enjoyed the pictures and will post some photos of their brown-lipped snails to keep the thread fresh, interesting, colourful and even scientific too.

I found a yellow-with-one-stripe on the platform of a local train station that is freakishly large. Not quite the one above but an easy 2nd. Luckily nobody had stepped on it! Had to take it home by train. Photos soon!
