Might still be nemoralis - I've had some look like that and then only grow the defining stripe when they are fully grown.

I think you mentioned that you were in TO in one of your posts one time, so if that's the case, then this will very likely be cepaea nemoralis.

Oh, I have found hortensis in TO as well... I'll have to wait and see.

Odd... I've never seen hortensis in Toronto before, but it's also a huge city, so maybe I've missed certain locations. The city also used to have arianta arbustorum in certain areas, but it looks like they may have been died out.
