What The Snail? What are these spiky growths? My mystery snails are about 1-month old. They have strange growths above their heads. I recorded these "Cousin it"-like growths and posted it on youtube (link below) but no one has told me "it's natural" nor offered any advice. I have never seen this on any MS I have owned. What makes it truly bizarre is the fact that these growths are perfectly spaced and segmented in an even number just above their heads, as if it is natural. They are located on/in the soft tissue part of the snail, not the shell. I tried to manually remove the growths but the snails go deep inside their trapdoor and the growths go with them. Their home is a 10 Gallon, with 2 Guppies, 2 Otos, and them -2 Mystery Snails. Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate 20-30, Ph 6.8 (Doing a lot of water changes) Nothing thus far has helped. Hard for me to see very clearly what it is... but usually that's not normal and I would be inclined to say it is some sort of parasite. Can you take a good quality picture of the area?
Even if we do determine what it is, there's really not much you can do. Medicines that kill parasites will kill snails too, and if its just an abnormal snail it will be fine.
