Hi! I'm DesirΓ©e, aka DinowCookie. I'm a 20 years old business management student from the Netherlands. I started keeping a few garden snails since very recently (two days ago!). As a little girl I used to be very fond of snails. I'd go out and collect them, view them, play with them. Now since a few years we moved to a farmhouse with quite some garden to it. It happens too often that I accidentally step on a snail and it's always the saddest thing. They're all over the place! My grandma hates snails and kills them on sight, as she loves to garden and doesn't want her plants eaten. My dad burns garden waste and doesn't really care how many snails are burnt along with it. "The only good snail is a dead snail!" -dad (I love my family ) So a few days ago I Googled whether you can keep garden snails as pets, turned out they're perfect pets And now I have 7 I had a lot of fun assembling a first terrarium. I used a small plastic greenhouse meant for growing baby plants. There's moss, grass, rocks, flower pots, live plants, sticks and plenty of food in there. I think it looks adorable and it's great fun to have a miniature garden in my room. My plan is to collect all different types/colors of snails I can find in our garden, as well as rescue broken snails if I happen to find any. Currently with 7 snails I have a hard time spotting them, so I feel there's plenty of room for some more. Here are some pics:

That's a beautiful terrarium! Your snails are adorable too Thank you ^_^ They seem to be enjoying it so far the pickle and egg-shell mash seem to be favorites. I very much enjoy watching them explore the home I built for them. It's very relaxing

Not these. Normally they do, pickled pickles. But my pickles are ones I've grown in my own vegetable garden, which makes them basically like small cucumbers with more flavor. ^_^
