Which kind of snail is this?

Hi guys,

A colleague of mine found this snail on the street in the middle of town and 'dumped' it with me. It seems a happy fellow, snailing around in my terrarium. But what kind of snail is it? It's house is pale beige with at the entrace a translucent part, it's body is pale and the shell is about 11 mm. I live in Belgium. If I look around, it COULD be a Hygromia Cinctella. Can anyone confirm this or inform me what else it could be?

juvenile specimens often are tricky........ . Difficult to say. I'm not sure about the species, but I don't think it's Hygromia cinctella, because even juvenile specimens of this species have a "keel" (a prominent edge at the periphery of the whorl) and I can't see it. Furthermore, the soft parts shining through the shell are usually darker in Hygromia cinctella.

Sorry, sometimes it's difficult....... . Perhaps we can tell the species at adult age.

I don't think it's a juvenile. I think he is already an adult. Anyhow, waiting for others their ideas.

we'll see whether it is growing somewhat larger, but we can be sure that it ain't Hygromia cinctella.

We're now 3 months further and it is still exactly the same. It has not grown and is actually really 100% te same as begin July. Anyone any further idea what it may be?
