I had a similiar disc species which I took in with some plants in the winter. Found them around the house! All three ended up dying within a year. I believe they have shorter life spans. That said, they're super cute and photogenic.

i find snails like these in my yard, mostly underneath rocks and places where cornu aspersum is too chunky to fit. it does look like ventridens demissus, or perforate dome snail. here is a relevant research paper from texas about the species (probably more than you'll ever need to know, but interesting!  )
