I've got one here that my dad bought back but i haven't used yet as i am not sure about it, it's B&Q multipurpose compost, then it says, 'an all in one' compost for garden and house plants, in big words it says 'new formulation' recommended for pots and planters, other main uses, sowing seeds, potting indoor plants, hanging baskets.. produced from a blend of high quality sphagnum peats mixed with essential plant nutrients including trace elements, also contain wetting agents Is this ok to use?

B&Q told me that if it didn't have chemicals in, it would be listed as organic or say chemical free on the bag, therefore only their organic compost is guaranteed safe

Last time I went to a garden centre I asked one of the leading staff about this. He said that "essential plant nutrients including trace elements, also contain wetting agents" does mean that it certainly has chemicals added. The compost I saw had a phrase like "specially formulated" which the man also said means that chemicals have been added. I think "wetting agents" are like these little blobs of gel? Or if not, they could be those little white gravel like things. I think they are to hold the moisture in. So, I personally would not use that... Hope this helps.
