One of the Spike's is eating! I managed to coax him out of his shell and now he is eating some oatmeal! The other came out briefly, and ate 2 bites of oatmeal off my finger before going back in, but it's an improvement! *does happy dance*

I am happy to report that being in the "miracle" propagtor tank, like sarah got, has worked wonders for the 2 remaining Spike's. They came out to eat on their own tonight. No coaxing and bathing needed. They both ate a meal of cucumber, and are both now happily slimeing around the sides of the propagator!

Well, they both slid back down hill the last 2 days. The miracle tank lost it's magic, and both remaining Spike's have died. I wonder if it was a genetic thing? They were all siblings, and all my other snails are happy and thriving.

you are probably right, they were probably inbred or something, i bought some sibling fulica once, sent one out to Beth in Wales, and one of mine and one of hers when down hill and retracted at the same time and then died within a few days of eachother, it's strange but must have been something genetic, or else just very scary...

Oh I'm SO sorry Moracai Isn't it just horrid when you try so hard and nothing seems to work, well you certainly did all you possibly could do, I agree that it sounds like something genetic but it doesn't make the loss any easier does it. Val

Thanks Sarah and Val. At least they are not suffering, I worried that they were, but I had to try. They were my first GALS, so that makes it sadder.
