Hello!
I just got 6 new Helix Aspersum snails, and I am able to keep my tank around 60-80% humidity. What is the recommended humidity level? Also, is there a good way to keep them humid? Should i get like a tank humidifier?

I don’t measure the humidity of my tank; I just spray the tank twice a day. Some days I’ll skip one of the sprays and give it a good soaking after since where I found them, it gets really hot/dry and then pours.

OH that's perfect! Yeah I just started out so I'm probably a little over nervous about this stuff!

If your tank is drying out too fast, try decreasing the amount of ventilation by covering some air holes. This will help keep moisture and humidity in.

Cornu aspersum don't require high humidity, but they will be awake more often if it's humid. Otherwise they just sleep attached to the walls with a thin mucus film if it's too dry for them (something they would do in nature if it hasn't been raining often). You don't need to buy a humidifier, and spraying once a day, or covering the majority (90%) of a screen top will hold plenty of moisture in for them.

As others have said, I just mist the tank when it's looking a bit dry. Cornu aspersum are awesome for their adaptability, so you're not likely to go so wrong with the humidity that something bad will happen. Just keep it moist, not soaked and not dry as a bone, and they'll be fine. In time, you'll come to notice what level of humidity they're most active at just through trial and error.

Sorry if that's prohibited to hijack threads made by others, though I'd like to know: should I place an extra humidifier/mist vaporizer in the room where terrarium is placed to fix the RH? Or not? Air is really dry in my new apartment so I'm afraid it could harm my pet snails (Helix pomatia). upd: with this whole quarantine thing, decided to give it a try (from Pure, as it's bigger so it's just set up and leave for a while). Air quality improved a lot, and helixes became more active these days. Consider it a success!
