It's hard to tell for sure over the internet but it sounds like your snail may have come into contact with some sort of irritant, hence the swelling and shriveling of the foot. What are you feeding your snail? What substrate do you use? Do you use rinse off your hands with plain water for a few minutes before handing it? No soap, just water. Soap is an irritant and can dry them out, and you may not realize it but there are significant amounts of soap residue left on your hands after washing them. Before you handle your snail just rinse your hands with plain water for a couple minutes.
For now you could put it in some cool (not cold, not warm/hot) chamomile tea, even rinse it off with some water. I'd give that a shot before doing anything further, hopefully someone else can chime in as well.

Were they strawberries you grew yourself or strawberries you bought from the store? Also, you are aware that snails can't live off of only strawberries, aren't you? I'm hoping you're not JUST feeding him strawberries.
You can always buy some chamomile tea.. I'm not saying that's going to make everything better but are you willing to go out of your way to try and help him recover? That's the main question that comes to mind from reading this thread.
