i ordered a snail online. received 3. One was dead and the other two seemed fine. The species are Potamia.
I noticed ones foot was barely sticking out. And HARD, and dark colored. i placed it in water and it came out a little more. but not ALL THE WAY. this was starting to bother me. The entire foot was slowly changing to this dense dark useless limb. so i teased him out of his shell a little bit so i could get a better view at the foot. What scared me is that he was completely unresponsive. I poked his mantle and it twitched back so i knew it was still alive.
After getting a good look i noticed a BUBBLE that developed around the neck of its foot. I have no idea what it is. maybe it’s internally bleeding or storing all the water there.
i soaked it in water all day hoping for the foot to absorb it. The foot is dark as ever, and the bubble is bigger.
i don’t know how to add photos but i have a few. If you would like to see the photos you can contact me over instagram @whoopsiesnails or facebook. Polly pixel Clark or my email. otaku.leo.pixel@gmail.com
i really want answers here or even a way to make sure this guy makes it.

Hi whoopsiecoochin, that sounds rather bad. I think you can do nothing more than to keep it damp/wet (but don't drown it). By the way: "Potamia" is an insect, a genus of the flies. Do you mean "Helix pomatia"? All the best for your snails, kind regards: wolf

Is the bubble you're describing like a growth on the body of the snail? Rather than a bubble, like when they bubble up in fear/defense?
Honestly, I can't think of what you could do that you're not already doing. I would say keep putting the snail in water for a few minutes at a time, then onto something like a moist lettuce leaf or cucumber, or some other tempting food.
Also, I would be contacting the seller of the snails. How have they managed to send out three snails where one died in transit and one if clearly unwell? It sounds like there'a something's wrong with how they were posted, or their general snail breeding and care.

If you had submerged the snail up to the lip of the shell the snail is producing bubbles because it is scared and/or cannot breath. His most likely dried out a bit, put him in a container on a lid that's been sprayed down and not in an actual container of water. Leave him in the container in a cool area and keep spraying him every few hours
