I got two baby albino jades about a month ago. I received them in perfect health but since then their shell growth has been brittle and rough. I have cared for adult land snails before and never had this issue. I have a constant supply of calcium in the form of a cuttlefish bone, which I can see they have been eating. I give them a variety of fruit and veg as well as fish flakes which they have been also eating. Is there something that I am doing wrong or could be doing? Thanks for your help.

Sometimes these shell issues can be genetic, especially in albino fulica which are often badly inbred over generations. If this is the case there's unfortunately not much you can do about it. It sounds like you're doing everything right with their care - be sure that you're not giving the fish flakes too frequently as an excess of protein in their diet can be detrimental. Once or twice a week should be sufficient.

Cuttlebone helps a lot (you can find it in the bird section at pet stores, it’s only about $3.00 for a two pack where I live). You can just break off a piece and put it in their as an extra source of calcium, really helped my land snails brittle and weak shells.
