Hi guys my name's Donna I'm new to the forum and looking for advice please? My gal Turbo is around 4 now and never had problems. He's been off food for a while only nibbling then this morning he had what looked like a bubble sticking out of his mouth that went back in when I made myself known. He can keep it in for quiet some time whilst roaming and trying to eat from what I'v observed. I've given him some Aloe vera and luke warm water which he rested his face in for 10 min and very depressed any advice would be welcome please 😫

What you describe sounds like it could be a gut extrusion. This was previously thought to be fatal in the majority of cases, however we have some forum members who have managed to successfully treat it in the last few years. There are some threads here with treatment advice: petsnails.proboards.com/thread/17061/notes-on-gut-extrusionpetsnails.proboards.com/thread/7692/gut-extrusion?page=3&scrollTo=116041If the snail is trying to eat, you could try offering soft or cooked food to make it easier. A small piece of cooked mashed sweet potato or carrot may be good.

Thanks for replying he managed some watermelon but yes I will cook some veg and thought I'd shave some cuttlebone and mix in. He has a long face this morning but no bubble popping out but his teeth are out not sure what to think but I'll check out the links thanks again.

Carrots boiled for long periods of time are good (most snails love them and they are easy to chew). I hope he gets better! Best of luck for you and your friend.

Thanks I'll try carrot I've cooked brocoli today but I'm not sure about the occasional excursion thats pops out on occassion. Should I pop it with a needle or not? 😱 I'd love to post some pics but can't seem to find the option for it 😕

In order to post pics here you need to use a photo uploading site like photo bucket or imgbb or something, imgbb has worked great for me. Just upload your photo, and copy the bb code and paste it in your post.
