Every few days or so , a dead snail. Healthy until sudden death. Helix a. Only a year old. Could it be bacterial infection?

What tank size are they in? How many snails? How ventilated is it? What’s their diet? How often do you clean it? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get a good picture of things before I make an assumption.

10 adults in a cake keeper container (designed to fit over a standard round birthday cake). No ventilation, but I lift the lid several times a day. Varied diet of all sorts of veggies and fish flakes. They've mated in there, laid eggs in the provided cup of dirt, and appeared content and active.

A cake keeper is not really a good set up, especially for something like 10 adult C. aspersum. Also ventilation holes would be preferred over opening the container sporadically. And on top of that they should have a layer of soil at the bottom of the terrarium - it grows beneficial bacteria which they need for their gut health. They ingest it when they eat the soil.

I will make those changes, thanks. Have been using damp paper towels as a substrate. Will sprinkle some soil in there, and add some holes.
