I have a apple snail that has a shell problem and I need some advice on how to help him. When I got him his shell had a white stripe on his shell that looked like his shell was chipped but when he grew the spot where his white line would of continued became open. here are some pictures. ibb.co/Mf3059Bibb.co/m6Th5BYibb.co/rwV5ycTibb.co/cyWdny5ibb.co/BBWg51x

Offer him high calcium foods and protein. some good things are cuttlebone and bloodworms, also make sure he gets some dark leafy greens (like kale, spinach, chard etc), sweet potato and zucchini are very nutritious too. Make sure you do at least weekly water changes with warm, conditioned water. Warmer water temps help too (78° or so is good). You can also find liquid calcium to add to the water column during water changes in the saltwater section at the pet store (I’ve heard the Kent marine stuff is good. I hope he heals up! If he is active and has an appetite then that is a very good sign.🙂
