Rose, hasn't improved unfortunately. I contacted someone who knows a good deal about snails and she said that it looks like partial mantle collapse but that as long as Rose is eating and is active, it's fine. She said it may shorten her life span. She said it could just be caused by poor genetics considering I have been so careful with how I care for Rosemary. I did find Rosemary in December on a plant and wonder if she may have consumed some pesticide from where she came from. I don't know. But the fact is, I'm not seeing improvement in the puffiness but it has also not gotten worse. But she is very active at night and eats well. Hows your snail doing?

Same for me , I have found her in an artichoke, so her first part of life was surely stressful... In the opinion of the vets I have heard, it should be due to irregular growth ,maybe too fast, and to the partial absorbtion of calcium (because of the total lack of sunlight). In fact some told me is nothing until she behaves normally, some said is a bit serious. At the moment my Faitila, went into hibernation from 3 weeks now. That should be good, because they need hibernation very much in order to recover energies, and also good because it means that she was able to get into her shell finally (even she made the epiphragm convex, instead of flat). She is sleeping in a ficus tree plant, and never smelling, also im checking her every few hours, and im misting some water over the soil where she is buried (but very very few, a bit more when it is raining outside). She is alone in there. Other 2, had similar problem but from less time and so should be less important, and they look to be a bit better now too: one of them, never showed the separation in recent days, and is now often sleeping normally inside her shell, so she looks better indeed. The other one instead, was improving too, but slower, and yesterday mated with the healthiest one, so in the following days im afraid her mantle will be even more puffy...unfortunately i was not able to prevent that, as these two snails are impossible to separate (because when I separate them they go crazy and escape looking for each other...i was really surprised), so I just let them do what they like, hoping they may have an happy life as much as possible!
