i can’t seem to find any snails outdoors, and i’m not comfortable with ordering them. any tips on finding them? i live near pine trees so i know they don’t like that, but i’m always searching and i’ve only found one haha

They don’t live in places with pine trees because they don’t like the needles.. you may need to look in another area

Try waiting until April or early May when the weather has warmed up a bit, go out with a flashlight on a rainy evening as snails are more active at night. You can try leaving out some food like a chunk of sweet potato in a sheltered place during the day when it's raining and then seeing if it's attracted any snails at night.

I don't know if you still need some help with this but... I'm super new to snails (this is even my first post here). But I did reach out to a local nursery and asked them if I could go snail hunting while they're doing their regular maintenance (before they officially open for the day). They were super accommodating. "Yes, please TAKE ALL THE SNAILS you can find." Haha. I'm going next Saturday. I would go sooner but I'm getting a bunch of substrate and supplies in the mail next week so I have to wait for all that to come in first.
