It’s my first time actually ever buying a Giant African Land Snail, I never really thought i’d get one and I have no clue how i was interested in them 😂. But I’ve brought a Starter Kit off of snails4you with a heat mat so that will be coming soon. It was such a tough decision choosing what species of GALS to buy but I felt connected to the White Jade. So the snails name will be Grub and he should be arriving tomorrow or Friday I hope. If anyone wants to give me any tips or want to chat about snails can comment if they want. I also have a storage container spare for a new home as the starter kit box isn’t that big and will only last a few months. Does anyone know how quick a White Jade will grow? One thing i saw but was unsure of was also water? Does it need a water dish in its home or do i just mist and gently pop it under a low running tap daily?

Update to say that Grub has arrived safely, didn’t come with his cuttlefish bone unfortunately so he will have to do with some eggshells for the time being. He’s enjoying his water sprays and he does like to have a snooze and come out when it’s time for spending time with me We already know that his favourite food is lettuce as that is the only thing he’s attached to 😂😂

Congratulations! I don't know about others, but my snails have a shallow plastic dish with some fresh water in their tank. They like to drink and bathe in it. I don't think it's bad to have an additional source of moisture, so long as it's not deep enough for them to drown or made of a hard material to damage their shells, in case they fall into it.

Thank you, every morning when he’s woken up from a quick nap getting ready for food, i place some warm water on a bowl and pop him on there for half an hour or when he signals me that it’s time to get off. I additionally spray his home three times a day while he’s asleep !!!
