I have very soft water and have been using egg shells and cuttlefish bone to harden the water up, but I find it very frustratimg with removing the membrane from eggshells the entire time (if i dont remove the membrane it starts smelling bad), because it literally takes me an hour to remove the membrane from two cooked eggshells. Anyways I have been looking around the petshop and found DARO crushed oyster shells for birds, and wondered if this is safe for my snails ? Also at my local pharmacy I can find pure dolomite tablets, will these harm my snails ? I cannot find Tums where I live, and most antacids here are made from calcium citrate. I can find inova’s B-cal calcium supplements, but im also unsure if this is safe. Every other possible calcium supplement has vitamin D3 added to it, i cannot find any other calcium source without the vit D3. Do any of you have any experience with the above mentioned ?
