New snail owner, question about estivation--that is, I'm wondering if my milk snails are just estivating? I live in AZ, so it's been stupidly hot lately, and we keep our house about 78-80 degrees. I have the snails in a terrarium with coconut coir substrate, a small jar cap of water, some moss and cork, been feeding mostly zucchini and squash, and humidity inside stays around 85%. Two of the snails seem to perhaps move and eat at night time--up until the past several days, anyway. And two moved when they originally were put in, but since have just stayed clamped to the walls. I was told that milk snails are famous estivators, but I'm sadly just worried that they didn't take the heat of travel well and all either haven't survived that trauma...or perhaps it's too hot, or maybe even, too....wet?

I've not had milk snails before, but from a bit of research they seem to have similar care requirements to Aspersa. So I'd guess that if it's anything, it's the heat. 78-80 degrees might be a little too hot for them.
If you're sure they are aestivating then perhaps take the temperature down a bit and gently wake them up by running them under a tap. Then place them on some food and see how they react.
