I’m a first time snail owner, and I have a typical garden snail. I handle her with extreme care, but I got her from my guitar instructor who might’ve not been as careful as me when she captured her. She has a tiny hole on what I think is the connective tissue on her mantle? It’s small, and sometimes disappears completely. It expands in and out. Will she survive this? Is there anything I should be doing to help her heal? I’ve only had her for three days and she sleeps a big portion of the day. I haven’t witnessed her eating yet, but she’s gone to the bathroom. she’s had a little calcium powder and plenty of water.

That sounds like what you are seeing is the snail's pneumostome or breathing hole, a normal part of their anatomy. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pneumostome |
