Yesterday I found a lot of little white mites underneath the cuttlefish bone in my snail’s tank and after a closer inspection I realised they were all through the substrate as well, I have heard about slug mites but none of the mites were on my snail so I don’t think they were slug mites but I’m not sure, they weren’t moving very much or very fast either. Does anyone know what type of mite the could be and how to get rid of them?

They could be springtails. Do they jump away when disturbed? If they're just in the soil and not on the snails then chances are they are just harmless soil bugs of some kind.

Sorry I accidentally made this thread in the aquatic snails bit, I didn’t realise. I don’t think they jump away when I put my hand near them they move very slowly and not much. If I clean everything out and bake the substrate to put back in do you think they’ll come back?
