Hey there, I'm Arthur. I'm pretty new to having snails but I've always loved them.
My main man, Slimemancer, is a Garden snail- a Helix Aspersa to be exact!
I've also recently collected three other Garden snails, and two Cernuella virgata (Vineyard snails).
They are all currently campin' out in a 13 litre tank (3.5 gallons) but will be moved to their own terrariums asap, (probably tonight after school!).
In regards to their set ups, (I will re-do Slimemancers to this as well) I plan to have a layer of pebbles for drainage, and for the garden snails- a layer of sterilized soil, and sphagnum moss covering the soil. Should the moss be covering only some of the soil, or all of it?
For the vineyard snails, I was going to use a more sandy-soil, and most-likely the same sphagnum moss, since I have leftovers.
And of course, hides & dried leaves for the snails to chill under!
Slimemancer's current favourite food is Cucumber, I also give him some carrot (though he hasn't too much of it, maybe the others will.)
I also want to experiment with other foods like snow peas, and broccoli (we grow both in the garden). and maybe some fruits! We grow strawberries too, and a lot get partially eaten so we don't often have them, so I thought I'd give some to my slimy buds.
Let me know if any of these things seem harmful to the snails.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of your cute snail buddies!
I'll post some image links so you can see my babies.
