So, I plan to buy a pair of Helix Pomatia in the next week or so. Temperatures should be 30-40F (-1 to 4C)* and a heat pack will be used. There may be dips to around 20-29F (-4 to -2C)* but I know helix pomatia can handle temps in that range without heat (by hibernation), and can even go as low as 14F (-10C) for around an hour. This all makes me think it will be okay, but I want to make sure I wont have any problems! I’d hate to risk the lives of such innocent little snails.
Note: The snails will be young, only a few months old. Snails will be obtained legally, and shipping will take 1-2 days, 3 at the very most, with a 72hr heat pack and will be brought inside immediately to be placed in a 72F (22c)* tank for them to settle in.
