Hi guys, after two days of storm and wind, I found this new cute guest on my balcony (I think she arrived attached to a dead leaf carried by the wind)... Have any idea abt what specie could her be? I live in a city near Florence, Tuscany, Italy.. Here she is

Hi daniele, thanks a lot for good pictures and information about the location. It is always helpful to know the hight of the shell. I suppose the hight will be a few millimeters? I think it is some kind of Succineidae ("amber snails"), juvenile. This family is very tricky. For a rather sure identification in most cases it is necessary to do a "genital morphology" (= dissection of the genital organs). Otherwise you can't really be sure.......... . Kind regards: wolf

Thank you very much Wolf for the quick and precise answer!
After your explanation, I can tell that I really don't want to be sure abt her specie then ahahaha
The size is a few mm indeed: maybe around 4/5 mm in lenght at most, and maybe 2/3 mm in height (just by watching it, I am not sure precisely)! Will it become a big guy in your opinion? (anyway there's as much space as it will need since he has the whole balcony...Hoping he will cope well with his Cornu and Deroceras balcony mates!)

Hi daniele, most species of this family have a shell hight of about 13 - 15 mm (some even less) in adult state. Oxyloma elegans goes up to 25 mm. Have a nice time: wolf
