My snail probably died

does not move or try to hide when I touch its leg, does not react to bathing, to water, to different surfaces, does not stick on walls as it used to, but does not smell.

Its leg is sticking just a little outside of its shell and looks really shrinked, like a skin of an old person.

Can I be sure it is dead? It is a sad day for me.

I’m so sorry! I don’t know a ton about gals but, your snail could be malnourished or just close to death. I would just keep a close eye on your snail, I hope he/she gets better! 🐌💕💕

He was definitely alive yesterday, I noticed this morning that he tried to fill out the shell with his leg. What does this mean?

He died. A slight smell started to appear. My first and last achatina, loved him so much. Only lived for 2.5 years or so. Bye people.

Oh I’m so sorry! I wish I replied sooner. I think he was close to death. I have helix aspersa, but this happened to one of mine. He wasn’t very active bc he wasn’t getting enough nutrition, and the one day he was gone. I’m super sorry about loosing your snail! I hope you keeps snails again someday! 💕

Sorry to hear that I doubt there was anything you could have done. There are so many mysterious illnesses that seem to afflict snails that we just don't understand yet.
