How is he now? Have you read these: www.petsnails.co.uk/problems/limp-body.html#start and www.petsnails.co.uk/problems/not-eating.html#start ? Have you separated him from other snails if you have any? And if you do have other snails, are they okay? If you suspect infection, maybe putting him somewhere very clean without substrate and with some soft, wet padding instead would be better for now? Try giving him warm green tea baths (shallow so that he wouldn't drown, especially since he's weakened) and see how he reacts. Keep him well-moisturised at all times and clean. I hope someone more experienced here can confirm or disprove it, but when I was researching, I remember reading that metronidazole is an acceptable antibiotic for a snail (one 250mg tablet completely dissolved in one glass of water). Make a shallow bath, put a snail into it for 10-15 minutes and make sure it stays. Add a bit more warm, clean water if the snail retracts deeply in its shell. Again, I hope someone else here can comment on this type of treatment should you decide to try it on your friend. I can't claim it's safe, because I haven't tried it myself.

hi, sorry I have been very busy with my new baby snails or else I would have replied sooner. I would be sure its an infection before giving your snail anything. That is quite a while without food so it could be deep retraction syndrome. I hope the best for you and your snail. try moving him to a smaller tank with lots of food and calcium, and do green tea baths daily. (also make sure the temp in the tank is good)
