I have two White-lipped Banded Snails. Both are well, active, and seem healthy, but during the past couple of months of having them they haven't layed a single clutch of eggs. This worries me as before getting them in almost all my research it said snails lay a lot of legs, and quite frequently. I think the problem might be that I currently don't give them enough protein, so I'll start doing that, but is there possibly another problem? Could it be that there's too little soil in their tank? That the temperature isn't right? Or maybe they just don't match with one another, even though they are the same species? I'd love to get some help as I'd like to make sure my two snails are fine and healthy, and I also might want to hatch a clutch to then release in my garden, as a fun little project.

It could be their tank is to dry or they aren’t getting enough protein. I would make sure all conditions are right and they are getting lots of protein and see if that helps.

Unless you're in the southern hemisphere, it's winter at the moment - most snails don't lay eggs in the winter.

Although I don't think they layed any during the brief period before winter either :/

winter usually has nothing to do with it. snails hibernate out of instinct and because they are cold blooded animals and rely on their surroundings. so, if you keep your tank warm I assume your snail wouldn't know its winter or that it isn't mating season. I thought my snails would only lay eggs during mating season, but they have been laying eggs since October.
