My snail (garden snail) was born with a short eye stalk. Almost like he has one eye. I thought it would grow, as most do. However it never grew. It always was just this little short stump. However as he is growing. The short stump is growing. Just into a bigger, bulgey fat stump. And it's like when he retracts his eyes, the short bulge stump get stuck in his head. When he wants to push his eyes back out. He squirms around for ages trying to push it out and then finally, pop, it comes out and he looks more comfy. This is going on every time he retracts or extends his eye stalks. Anyway now he barely comes out the shell. And if he does. He only uses one eye stalk or painfully attempts to get the buldge out. Not only that. Then he will turn in on himself and lick around. Like he goes backwards. It's weird. Usually he'd be out plump and juicy happy as Larry. And now, he's like, a shell of who he was. Pun not intended 😔😢 I'll try get a photo and upload it.

That is very strange and fascinating. I feel bad for the little guy, I don’t know what you could do. Try giving him lots of food and see if that helps anything and give him a green tea bath.

Yeah I know
Now, he doesn't even ever retract it. I don't think he can. It's like it's growing bigger. It looks sad and sore. But, they can't feel pain right?? Please tell me he isn't in pain?... I've always been really causious about giving baths. And I never do it I just spray him heavily and wipe the shell clean when I feel he needs it. He gets a fright with the water.
But should I bathe him? Can u tell me how to do it? How deep, what tea to use, I wait for it to cool down once I brew the tea?
Thank you so much for your help/advice 🙏🙏😭

You can get a warm cup of water and put a green tea bath in for about 1 minute, or until it turns yellowish. Wait till it cools down but is still slightly warm, then poor some into a shallow dish. I would only make it deep enough so that he can just crawl around in it. He may like the warm water. I hope that helps him! As for him feeling pain, I do not know. Scientists say they don’t have the ability to process information like that, so I guess they do not feel pain. If his eye bothers him a lot you could remove it. I’m unsure how you would and what the side affects would be. I’ll try and do some research into it for you! I hope this helps you, and I hope he gets better! ☺️
