If I find cuttlefish on the beach can I use it for my GALS? When I look online the information is conflicting. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I'd be wary because of saltwater and potential contamination. Maybe if you clean it very, very thoroughly.

You would probably have to rinse it well in freshwater then boil it for a while and dry it out really good. If it’s from the ocean, then it will have live bacteria on it and there will be salt on it that could burn your snails.

Yeah I would just wash it really well and boil it. ^

petsnails.proboards.com/thread/13828/cuttle-fish-sea-safe-snails#:~:text=Its%20not%20hard%20work%20and,harmed%20them%20in%20any%20way. Do you still need help with this? This thread I came across might help! To sum it up, you can but you'd need to soak it in water for around 12 hours and change the water a few times throughout, and even then there is still a risk of salt remaining from the ocean. If you find an effective way to cleanse the cuttlefish then great! It'll safe you some money in the long run. But personally I'd just buy it cheap somewhere online to save all the effort.
