Hi Everyone,
I purchased these four little green snails yesterday at Petco. They are currently chillin in a med tank. The lady at Petco said they were jade mystery snails (which is something I’ve been looking for). But upon looking at the compared to my other mystery snails, their whirls are a bit longer then the others. Are they a Japanese Trapdoor? If you know please let me know! Lol
Edit; I don’t know how to add pictures. 😕

Hello! If they said they are mystery snails, they most likely are. There is a chance they could be a different species although. I’ll post a link on how to add photos in a bit ok!

It’s possible they could be Chinese mystery snails, those look something like a cross between a mystery snail and a Japanese trapdoor snail.
It’s unlikely though, they are probably just another species in the apple snail family. Pomacea bridgesii aren’t the only species of apple snail called mystery snails. Apple snails are a huge family of snails with a lot of sub-species.

Hi littlegoldsnail, btw: sorry, but do you talk about species or subspecies? Pomacea bridgesii (probably Pomacea diffusa, nowadays) is a species, not a subspecies . Have a nice time, kind regards: wolf
