Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful day! As I said in one of my latest posts, I’m starting a snail rescue! I need help identifying the first few snails for adoption. Let’s begin shall we! Thanks in advance! (All snails found in south of TN) The first are Zucchini and Squash: Details: they are both similar sizes, but zucchini has a more beat up shell. Which makes me think he’s older. Zucchini’s shell size: 4-3 mm. Squash’s shell size: 2-3 mm. youtu.be/SHolASfcoF0Next we have Finn! Details: his shell size is 4 mm, and looks the same as the others. No teeth on shell, and light colored body. youtu.be/Gku45xAbO_wNext is Aussie! Details: he has a dark, almost black, body. He also has teeth on his shell that you will see in the video. Shell size: 6-7 mm. youtu.be/ufNLp1mTpVULast we have kipper! Details: looks the same as most of them, light coloring and body. No teeth on shell. Shell size: 4-6 mm. youtu.be/zHfrY_QMqP4Ok! That is all! I’m so sorry that there are so many, I’m trying to get as much help as possible. There is more info in the description of every video. It would help him anybody identified even one! Please use their names so I know who you are talking about! Thanks so much!

Hi snaileyhammy, unfortunately your pictures are not very helpful (out of focus, f.e.). Sorry, sorry............ . It's too bad, but I know nearly nothing about north American land snails. Nevertheless I think "Aussie" should belong to the family Polygyridae, genus Tridopsis. There are several species of this genus in Tennessee, at least T. hopetonensis and T. tennesseensis (perhaps even T. fallax??). Perhaps you can compare with these species. There are sure many people living in the US on this forum who are very familiar with the land snails in their neighborhood.
Have a nice time: wolf

Hey! Ok, I can understand some of them are quite blurry. I can’t really get it much better though. I know that what genus Aussie is in, I just need to figure out the species.
So, idk what I’ll do.
