hey everyone - ive got a 1-2yo garden snail who im trying to wake out of hibernation. hes been under for a few months & i just recently moved so hes in good conditions again.
hes been in 70s-80s weather with frequent mistings and available food for 3 days now, but i havent seen him move at all - hes inside a small log in the tank. he doesnt smell and hasnt deeply retracted (when i nudge his shell i can tell his foot's stuck to the side of the wood). any advice?

Hello! First I recommend giving your snail a warm green tea bath. Then try increasing the humidity, and see if that helps at all. It is going to take time and patience. It can take weeks for them to wake up. I hope this helped you, and your snail wakes up soon!

I didn’t know that garden snails hibernated like that! I just assumed they’d estivate when it got too cold. Interesting!

Yeah! They do hibernate. It’s best to just keep there tank at a constant warm temp though winter so they will not hibernate.

Hmmm, I would try maybe lightly poking him out. Can you touch him at all? I know this may sound strange, but if you can touch him you can hum him awake. It’s highly likely that it will not work, because of him hibernating. If you try everything and you still can’t get him, you may have to break it open to get him out.
