Hello, snail enthusiasts! I've been reading through the forum for a little while now but only got approved to join a few days ago, so I'm happy to be here. I've already learned so much from reading the posts of more experienced snail keepers.
I'm very new to the hobby, as I got my first snails only two weeks ago. I got two native, captive-bred Mackay Banded Snails initially (Marilyness findera). I named them Zen and Lotus.

(My hands are always clean and wet in the pictures, even if they don't look it sometimes.)
I was planning on leaving it at that, at least for a while, but then a family member had already mentioned to their co-worker that I was after snails, and the co-worker brought in SIXTEEN wild caught snails from their garden... And that's how I ended up with a whole bunch of surprise little Asian Trampsnails (Bradybaena similaris).
I've named all except three baby snails, so there's: Muddle, Puddle, Huddle, Moon, Tiggi, Zebbi, Squall, Storm, Squint, Sneak, Kinky, Fade and Speckle.

Since then, I've also acquired a juvenile native Red Triangle Slug (Triboniophorus graeffei) I found under a flower pot and an injured Vineyard Snail (Cernuella virgata) from my own garden to nurse back to health. I don't have any pictures of the Vineyard Snail (named Odin by my husband due to their damaged eyestalks), but I do have one of Endymion.

I'm keeping all the species housed separately, of course, and have further separated three of the smallest baby Asian Trampsnails and Puddle, who sadly had their shell damaged in between being caught in the co-worker's garden and me getting them. I don't intend to let any eggs hatch under my watch (though I've read a lot of stories of eggs flying under the radar, so we'll see I guess).
And that's my new and unexpectedly large invertebrate family!
I look forward to being here and learning more.
