I’m a recent new owner to a Achantina fulica “jadatzi” and was considering getting one/two more as company for him as I feel my enclosure is large enough but I’m nervous on keeping control of all egg clutches as I’m yet to experience one I was looking for advice on how everyone else keeps control of their eggs so I could prepare myself for it and maybe reconsider the idea of housing more than one if it can get too overwhelming at times.
Thank you.

Hello there! As long as your setup is adequate for all three snails you should be good! If you’d like to get more snails, do it! But snails really don’t mind being alone, but either way your snail should be ok with it! As for eggs, the most common thing to do is to check weekly or twice weekly in the soil, then freeze and dispose of any eggs you find. I find that crushing can be really hard on a snail lover. I know it seems terrible, but if you aren’t able to hatch the eggs, it’s the best option. You could feed them to another animal, like lizard, etc, if you own one, but that’s another choice. If you have any other questions, please let us know!

Fulica are notorious for producing eggs very often, especially if you have 2 or more together, but if you're willing to do all the soil checks and responsibly dispose of any eggs/hatchlings, as snaileyhammy said, then go for it! You can even feed any eggs/hatchlings (hatchlings have to be crushed first though as it's fast and painless, freezing is very slow and painful for them) to the snails themselves as to its a very good protein snack.

I just wanted to say something really quick! No offense to anyone at all. How you dispose of the eggs is your choice. Some people choose crushing, because they think it’s the most humane way for them to go. Crushing can be really hard for an animal lover to do, in my experience. There really isn’t anything wrong with crushing, but it isn’t pleasant. So, freezing is the best option with unhatched eggs, in my opinion. If you do happen to have some hatchlings, the best thing to do is dip them in beer and freeze them. As far as what we know about snails, they don’t feel pain. They can supposedly get stressed out, but the beer also supposedly numbs them. You can always do crushing if you are comfortable with it! There is nothing wrong with either method, I just wanted to state that there isn’t anything wrong with freezing the eggs. I know both feel wrong, but you have to remember, what you are doing you are doing out of love. ❤️ Hopefully one day we will have advances in the study of Gastropods.

Oh gosh, yes I forgot about putting them in beer. So sorry, snaileyhammy! That is indeed a viable option.
