Hello,
I will try again if the photo doesn't appear but however I have a garden snail who is very rigidly stuck to the glass with an almost fluorescent green kind of ring around the shell opening on it's foot. The rim of it's shell was a little soft yesterday and it looked pinkish - I managed to lift it onto a cuttlefish bone and it emerged out of it's shell only to attach back onto the glass. I'm just becoming concerned of it's foot colour. Any expertise would be greatly appreciated! XXXOOO

Hello! I have no means to intrude, but it looks to me that your snails was trying to seal up. You should check the temperature/humidity of your tank, and make sure it is ok for your snail. Your snail should be just fine though!

Cheers SH, please I would like suggestions from all experienced snail lovers...
So I do have 6 snails in total and the others aren't seeming to mind the environment. There are 3 medium sized snails (this guy is one) and 3 slightly larger ones. The larger ones don't sleep on the glass nearly as much as the smol ones do.

It is likely, that they ate the only one that has been affected so far. They definitely look like they are sealing up, and they could be doing it because of the most commons reason like I stated, or parasites, or their species, but you will have to keep an eye on them before you assume something. Here is some info about it www.petsnails.co.uk/problems/sealed-in.htmlI would definitely check your tank’s temperature/humidity to be sure.

imgur.com/a/vHQ1la5Everythings coming up Milhouse! Fingers crossed. I would like to say I have read so much fantastic information browsing the forum, thanks to SB and SH for the help! I gave the now 2 small snails that were closing up a warm bath and now that I know the temp I can spray water when needed and heat with a wheat bag against the glass to up the temp. I'm stoked. The image shows the two snails on the lid chillin and looking heaps better. Peace out snail fans xxxooo

Hi, molluscmama! Sorry for my delayed reply- glad to hear your snails are feeling better! Although, my apologies but for future reference, I wouldn't suggest forcing the snails out of dormancy in any way as it causes them stress and they 'know' when they're ready to come out. Also, wild-caught snails can just hibernate on their own accord and it's perfectly healthy and shouldn't be disturbed. In addition, regarding the heat pack, I would highly suggest against using the pack as it will fluctuate constantly as it heats up and then cools down over several hours which is not a healthy environment for the snails in the long term. If you want to heat the enclosure properly, you'll need to get a heat pad and thermostat intended for reptiles. However, in all honesty, those tend to be quite pricey (altogether at cheapest ~£35-40), so you can just insulate the enclosure with bubble wrap and/or cardboard and use the thermometer you already have just to monitor everything and it should be enough. Bare in mind that common garden snails/Cornu aspersum survive very low temperatures outside so unless your house is extremely cold heating won't be necessary. If you'd like to, however, I can link the heating setup I use for my Giant African Land Snail (which constantly needs 22-24 degrees so heating is necessary for the colder months of the year when my house is a bit below that)
So sorry again to bother you with all of this D:

This info is gold, thank you! I will take the heat pack away NOW and organise some insulation/a heat mat xxx I understand they must survive at low temps being in nature hence the potential to be dormant when they need to, I guess it just freaked me out...I don't want to be an incompetent mother ❤🐌 hahaha Both you guys are such a god send, cheers again...I live in Perth Western Australia and the weather will be super hot (40°C plus)in a month or so and then I'll be like HELP it's too hot in the terrarium! Never apologise, your care and knowledge is why I'm here
