Hi anyone/everyone. New snail keeper here. Having major bug issues.
Recently had an outbreak of Riccardoella limacum. Purchased Hypoaspis miles to help wipe them out. Before adding the Hypoaspis miles, re-did substrate with zoo med creature soil, and gave snails a bath before putting them in cleaned out tank with new substrate. put in zoo med terrarium moss too.
Hypoaspis miles seemed to be all but dead when I put into the tank. It was a batch of 12,500 from nature's good guys and I just don't think they made the trip alive from the UK by the time they got to me in CA. I was just in the process of trying to find a new supplier, WHEN TONIGHT I FOUND SOMETHING NEW.
This is a piece of cucumber treat that was holding up in the tank and they were still nibbling on, but I think I over-sprayed in there and it spoiled. Its been a crazy week for me and I always do my best but now this has happened.
Can someone please tell me 1. what these are 2. do they need to be eradicated? 3. if so, how do I get rid of them? Thinking they are soil mites judging by a google search but would love to hear thoughts here.
Thank you in advance! Really appreciate anyone who takes the time to chime in.
