I had an overnight trip.. before I left I gave her fresh food (mangos, kale, and some strawberry) and fresh water. She has calcium in her tank too. Upon arriving home today first thing I did was spray her tank down and put some fresh food in there. She hasn't moved. The tip of her shell is black and white but only they very tip. Not sure what's wrong or why she isn't moving. She doesn't smell so I don't think she has passed but at the same time she looks all twisted where her belly normally lays on the surface. Is she just sleeping? Or has she passed? 😞

Hi Matti, do you have a photo of your snail? I don't know much about amber snails in particular so it might be useful if someone else who keeps them chimes in. It sounds a bit like your snail could be retracted though- is her body recoiled further into her shell then normal? It would make sense then that she is unreactive, sometimes my snail has issues with retraction when it gets cold and it can take them a while to get moving. In the unfortunate case that they are dead, the snail will not respond to stimulus and may begin to smell bad but maybe with a small snail like an amber snail the smell wouldn't be so noticeable. I'm not sure about what you said with the tip of her shell turning black, I have never heard of a snail changing colour like that so quickly. I wouldn't lose hope just yet, keep her where she is and keep food near her. Hopefully she'll be tempted out, if not and she begins to smell/leak fluid/body becomes hard she may indeed be dead

I’m not super experienced with amber snails, but I’ve kept them before. And honestly, it could be that their tank is too dry. Amber snails like it to be super moist! Try putting them in a smaller container, and making it pretty humid. Maybe that will help! If they don’t come out, consider smelling them to see if they have passed away ^ Let us know how things are going now! It’s been a bit, so things might have changed I hope the best for you and the snailey /gen
