I found a garden snail stepped on. The shell is broken in some pieces and the body has not gone into the shell yet. Her face has not shown yet either. I brought her to a small Tupperware with 5 tiny holes on the top to keep it humid. I didn’t touch, move , or remove any part of the shell to make sure not to cause damage. Here’s some pictures. www.flickr.com/photos/196762695@N08/albums/72177720303124701Any input ? Thanks !

This does not look good, I doubt that the snail is still alive. Did you notice any movement?

There was very slight movement when sprayed/poked/blown on a few hours ago. Right now after spraying I did not notice movement. I’m not sure what to do , I was gonna see if she moves over the next day or so. I’ll keep the container humid and spray her a lot for now.

Oh no, that's awful i'm so so sorry /gen
My advice is to put them in a small container with a leaf and a veggie of some sort. Spray it a few times day, and check in often. They may need calcium, so try giving them egg shells. They should be comfy there, but unfortunately, because all of their organs, etc, are exposed, they probably won't live very long. They still have a chance though, so I would set up something clean and comfortable for recovery, incase they improve any. If within a few days, you see no improvement, In would euthanize them. But if they do pass naturally, just know that you tried your very best love <3
Others would tell you to euthanize straight away, but I feel as though it should be your choice. That IS an option by the way. It is not the only option though. And whatever you do is your decision, and I will always support your decision no matter what. It is so sad, I know. Factually, snails do not experience emotions, and life, like humans do, rather in their own way. They do have very small, vague memories, therefore do get stressed, so sometimes, euthanizing is the best option. Just watch your snail and decide what you think would be best for them, based on how they are behaving. And do what you are comfortable with. I believe in you <3

Thank you! There has not been any movement since 24 hours. I am keeping container humid and spraying with fresh water every few hours except when I’m working or sleeping. I will wait more days and give her a chance to recover naturally. I don’t want her to be feeling pain. I will go day by day.
