i got 2 baby lissachatina reticulata snails from landsnails.org about 5 months ago. i noticed that they stopped growing recently, and they’re only 6 cm long. for the past couple of weeks they’ve gone into deep retraction with no seal. the shell closest to their bodies seems weak and thin. they come out of their shells when moved, but i can’t tell if they’re eating anything. i give all my snails a mix of dried mealworms, oyster shells and oatmeal ground up. I think my GALS need more calcium, so i’ll give them plain oyster shells tomorrow. i’m giving them a bath right now to remove any possible bacteria. is there anything else i can do? should i change the ingredients in the mix?

Do you feed them vegetables as well? Sweet potato, zucchini, sweet corn, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, eggplant, mushrooms, apple, pear, green beans, pepper etc. are good regular foods for them.
Are they pooping? That would be a good indicator if they're eating.
It is recommended to keep their food and their calcium separated, as they can overdose otherwise. Cuttlebone is a good calcium source, but I see oyster shells often used as well.
It could very well be bad genes as well. I don't have experience with that, but maybe someone more knowledgable about what to do can chime in.
