Rofl Sophie I knew you were mad... but that mad? Lol. I really hope you are kidding like you say I've had the female sign under my name since I signed up rofl. Sian is the welsh form of Jane. Sometimes with a ^ above one of the letters. But it gets prounounced as everything but the proper thing. I've had shaun, seean, sigh-an, shan . It's Sharn, Barn with Sh not b lol.

I just don't think anything would be done about this though...or some other things. what other things are you referring to?

Patience sonicsnail.......it will all get done in time!!! ;D Nooo! You have found out my weakness, I am indeed very impatient. Maybe that should go on the suggestions and improvements lol. I just had another idea! I need to be more patient... No, in all honesty I believe that Paul does a great job with this forum, however, then maybe he is very busy, so that's why things take for ever to get done?

I just don't think anything would be done about this though...or some other things. what other things are you referring to? -Personally- I think that the Snail Photography Competition would not be held again until a very long time. Paul has said, get you pics ready over Christmas, which suggests that it would be held in the new year. Somehow I just don't see this happening. I'm not at all criticizing the way Paul organises this forum, maybe it is just me. I believe it would not be held until like April next year or something, I just need to be proved wrong.

I think you can help him with that by setting it up(rules, deadlines etc).I'm sure Paul wouldn't mind if members show some initiative. While it might not be your original idea, you can certainly be the motor behind it by coordinating things.

April sounds fine to me, can't keep having photo comps. Val

The photos wouldn't be the same each time either. Not if a rule was made so no pic can be used in the very next comp(s). It would give us more variety then.

No, in all honesty I believe that Paul does a great job with this forum, however, then maybe he is very busy, so that's why things take for ever to get done? You are impatient , I've only been doing this for nearly a year and I think a lot of progress has been made. Things do take time though, just the recent directory feature alone was well over 1000 lines of programming, plus database schemas etc. It takes time and I have to fit it around work and having a life. That is why Arno is correct. I want more people to get involved, which is happening now. I'm not really gonna get involved in things like photo competitions, the forum exists so anyone and I do mean anyone can instigate something like this. You don't need my say so, just do it and I'll help with anything you need. I'm still trying to finish articles for the website that should be there like breeding ;D and species etc. Each part, particularly species etc. takes weeks or months of research. There is so much, so I do this and the programming simultaneously. Things will progress faster next year now that most of the information is reasonably good. At the end of the day, I'm not gonna pop a lung doing it because the site is gonna be around for a good while yet I hope so there is plenty of time for things to progress.
