I'm just looking at starting a page for one of the species I haven't done yet. And I can't decide which one, there's limited information for them all so none particularly jump out.
So which one's do you want to see first?
You can basically choose between:
Achatina albopicta* Achatina immaculata*+ Achatina iredalei*+ Achatina reticulata*+ Achatina varicosa+ Achatina zebra+ Archachatina degneri* Archachatina dimidiata+ Archachatina knorrii*+ Archachatina ventricosa*+ Archachatina rhodostoma* Archachatina papyracea*+ Archachatina purpurea*+
* Got reasonable info and black and white shell pics + Can definitely get some colour pictures (shell at least)

I think it makes more sense to do a page on a species that some of us have, for example A.reticulata,A.dimidiata,A iredalei or A.ventricosa.A.dimidiata with all the talk about keeping them and ID-ing lately is my favourite.

I'd like to see a page on reticulata, theres very limited information on them online (like maximum size, egg-laying, variations etc)

Immaculata or reticulata please. Only saying that cos I went to see if there was one earlier for those two *lol* All I need is a max size on retics, and info on growth rates of immac var. dimidiatas. But I doubt I'll find any better than here for the last one

I was thinking of starting with the immaculata page but that one in particular will take much longer, because I have to try and figure out all the variants. I've made a distribution map so I suppose I have somewhere to start.

But I doubt I'll find any better than here for the last one The biggest specimen Bequaert studied was 21cm (shell) but giants of any species can push that limit up. They average at about 16cm. There is no info available on growth rate of immaculata to my knowledge. My babies grew very quickly as all babies do, at least as quick as fulica. But the one I kept has slowed down considerably. I would say immaculata have an average GALS growth rate in relation to their max size.

Achatina iredalei. Since kevin is very kindly getting me 2, and I think it's facinating that they give birth live instead of eggs. (i think) am i right on that one?

yup! I believe they still have eggs but hold them internally then "spit" them out when they have hatched. basically it's just to make it difficult fos us so we can't freeze the eggs if you get 2, you'll end up with 22, then 222, the 2222 then........think you get the picture. maybe best not to keep two adults together as there seems to be an abundance of baby iradalei's available or on the way and I am kinda wondering where they are all gonna go. Brian. ***sorry for spamming the thread Paul***

I'm gonna do them in this order:
immaculata ventricosa reticulata iredalei
you'll have to bear with me because it takes some time to pull all the info together and sort the pics out, but I've made great progress with the immaculata one.
