The adverts on this forum are mostly 'kill snails with pellets' and other similar stuff that is unlikely to get a lot of clicks! Adsense generates these ads based mainly on the first useable words it finds on the site, I use Adsense on my own site and if you get the right ads you can generate a bit of cash which could be used for good snaily causes. If you wanted to get adverts that relate to things more useful to snail visitors you could try creating a bit of javascript with a list of words in it. Google tends to ignore meta tags but does read javascript looking for words. The benefit is its invible to users and you could put in words like 'pet supplies' or whatever you thought would generate clicks. Just an idea, I get a bit sad seeing slug pellets advertised all the time!

Proboards run adsense, not me, that's how they give you it for free. Unfortunately that means advertisers don't get to choose to advertise here which would remove all the slug pellet ads.
I can't imagine adsense using javascript, the main engine ignores it and there would always be a risk it would pick up all the javascript reserved words like document and window etc. and user-defined variables that are english words. That would generate the wrong ads.
Anyway, I have given it a go by adding a list of key words in both javascript and html comments, but it doesn't seem to be picking them up.
I also considered writing some javascript to remove ads like that, but it'd breach proboards rules and the last thing I want is them to boot us off.
